Jacob Labios

Science / Biology / Inquiry-based Learning

Jacob Labios received his Bachelor of Science in Biology (2013) at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Philippines, and Master in Biological Sciences (2019) at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan. His initiative to learn beyond the fundamentals of science taught inside the classroom has led him to organize an institute-wide academic fair about notable sciences like stem cell research and research ethics. His goal was to educate and to push objective criticism on the merits and consequences of progressive sciences. He brought this inquiry-driven approach to learning in Nara. From 2017 to 2019, he co-designed and facilitated classes in molecular biology and immunology, and drove discourse to the core concepts and participant’s research goals. In 2019, he started teaching as an English and Drama Coach at Howmights School. Currently living in Osaka, Japan, Jacob aspires to be an educator to nourish the ideas, curiosity, and dedication of his students.

Advisory of  Inquiry-based Learning

Co-owner of the Reimagined Classroom. I have a Master’s degree in education and focus on creating content that is relatable and accessible to all learners. I have over 10 years of teaching experience including in New York City at a Title 1 public school, where most of the children are ELL and at an IB and STEAM school where The Reimagined Classroom was born.

The Reimagined Classroom writes content for K-8 in all subject areas. We specialize in creating process-driven curriculums that focus on inquiry and student ownership. The curriculums we write range from traditional standards-based instruction to innovative story led programs with animations. Our small collective of highly experienced and creative teachers love to create content and products that we know will keep kids and teachers coming back for more.
